The Second Fret

Home Second_FretMemoriesLog.htm Second Fret Photos

The Second Fret was a Folk Club in Philadelphia, Pa in the early to mid 1960's.  Owned and operated by Manny Rubin, the Fret became one of the most influential clubs of that era.  We'd like to gather an archive of stories, remembrances and photos from our Uncle Manny's club...and we'd like your help.  Please tell us what you remember about those days at the Fret.  If you have a photo you'd like to share...e-mail me at info@secondfret.com and I'll arrange to put it on a photo page..

Something NEW...I've been asked by some folks to get together an e-mail listing of some former Second Fret patrons & workers so they can renew past acquaintances and find out what folks are doing so many years later.  I think it's a great idea.  If you want me to keep your e-mail address and make it available to others who request it, send me an e-mail to: info@secondfret.com and I'll take care of it.  I will not post these addresses on the web they will be shared only when requested specifically from my e-mail listing.  We'll see how it goes.

Thanks so much for helping us remember and bringing back some of the nostalgia of the days of The Second Fret.

Debbie & Bob Rubin  (Thanks to Pete Curry for this idea...)

Help us remember The Second Fret...(sign your name...it makes it more fun...thanks)

Sorry to say that spammers have taken over the world and I'm removing the memories entry page.  All we've been getting lately are things I don't want on my website.  I'm so sorry that we'll all miss out.  I'd removed this section for several months hoping that when I put it back it would be used what it's meant for, at least for a while.  It took less then a week for it to fill up with junk so I'm removing it again.  Feel free to read the memories that others have posted before.  It's great to relive some of those times.
